Study Abroad in London, Summer 2018
During July of 2018, I studied abroad in London at the University of Westminster and I took a course titled: Photographing the City: London. This program provided me with newfound independence through an unforgettable experience in a foreign country. This class took me all around London on photo walks and gallery visits, effectively exposing me to new subject areas through the lens of a different culture.
Reflection of Experience
My experience in London required me to have a great deal of persistence and flexibility. The plans my friends and I made frequently were interrupted by assignments for class or through our own mistakes. Several times my class required an unexpected visit to a museum and I would need to rearrange the rest of my plans for the day. However, I was able to rearrange other plans to visit places closer to the location required for class. I frequently got lost in the city or navigated transportation incorrectly, but my friends and I were able to laugh it off. We managed to remain adaptable to our environment while still managing to experience everything we planned.
